GIOVANNA VITELLI (AZIMUT BENETTI) TALKS TO DN: “YACHTING INDEXES LIKE FOR THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY”

Giovanna Vitelli, president of the Azimut Benetti Group, was one of the main speakers at the World Yachting Summit. During he speech at the Monaco event, she focused her attention to defining sustainable yachting indexes that are “rational, objective and transparent.” A fundamental tool for owners to understand what the market is truly providing and “that – Vitelli explains – would make our manufacturing field more professional and serious”, but that is also not shared by all.

Daily Nautica, as media partners for the event, interviewed her to speak about this topic further in depth. “In Azimut Benetti – she said – we strongly believe in indexes, indeed we supported both the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI), and the SEA Index CO2 Emissions Rating, and we also contributed to developing an index for yachts under 24 metres, which are the most common in our waters.”

An example of this work is the Seadeck series by Azimut, the “apex” of the Italian company’s research on sustainability. Because, as the entrepreneur reminded us during her interview, “we have to act concretely.”
