BOAT PORTS DOUBLED FOR THE SARDINIA PORT NETWORK THANKS TO THE ENTRY OF 14 NEW MARINAS

The Network of Ports of Sardinia is growing and doubling its capacity. With the official entry of 14 new facilities, in fact, the network of island marinas goes from 4,075 to 8,332 berths, with an increase of 4,275 available moorings, as announced during the shareholders’ meeting.

After the approval of the 2024 budget, the membership requests from fourteen new structures were examined and accepted with a unanimous vote. The new entities that have joined the network are: Marina di Sant’Elmo, Porto di Castelsardo, Marina Cala dei Sardi, Marinedì (with the marinas of Cagliari, Teulada and Villasimius), Marina di Fertilia, Saromar (with Capitana, Portoscuso, Perd’e Sali), the Consortium of the Port of Alghero, Marina Aquatica, Stintino Porto Mannu, Marina di Stintino and Nautica Pinna. With these new entries, the ports adhering to the network rise to 29.

Numerical growth is accompanied by technological and strategic evolution. To improve the usability of services and simplify cruise planning, the association has developed a new app, already available, that allows boaters and shipowners to consult in real time the availability of moorings in participating facilities. A simple, intuitive and functional tool, designed for those who are already sailing or are planning a nautical stay in Sardinia.

The assembly also emphasized the promotion of the network at a national and international level. The Network of Ports of Sardinia will be present at the main events of the nautical sector: from the Cannes Yachting Festival to the Monaco Yacht Show, passing through the Genoa International Boat Show and the Icomia World Marinas Conference. Without forgetting the Sardinia Nautical Fair, which this year will be held in Marina di Porto Rotondo, from April 30 to May 4.

“With the entry of new members – declared the president of the association, Dr. Matteo Molinas – we can offer a more widespread service throughout the island. The new app is just one of the many tools that we want to make available to nautical enthusiasts. We also aim to make lesser-known structures known to a wider audience, taking advantage of international events to promote the full potential of nautical Sardinia”.
