The 2022 edition of Seatec, the exhibition of technology, components, design and subcontracting
\napplied to boating yachting and shipping sectors, conceived and organized by IMM CarraraFiere,
\nthe only event dedicated to these sectors in Italy and southern Europe, opens the 19th edition of its
\nhistory in the name of recovery, which is connoting the entire nautical sector, of resilience, the
\nability to face and overcome a traumatic event or a period of difficulties and sustainability, the
\nmaximum commitment that production activities must adopt to reverse the trend of over-
\nexploitation of the planet\u00a0 resources.
\nThe exhibition, after a one-year stop due to the well-known problems of the Covid-19 pandemic, in
\nthe wake of developments in the nautical world, represents an important opportunity to innovate
\nand enrich a unique format in the Italian nautical exhibition panorama, which for 19 years
\nconstitutes the reference point of the industry.
\nOn the wave of the current positive situation of the international nautical market, Seatec 2022
\nconsolidates its presence and its value in the context of the pleasure boating supply chain,
\nstrengthened by its location in the heart of the La Spezia-Versilia-Livorno cluster, the largest
\nproducer of superyachts in Italy.
\nAlongside Seatec 2022 there will also be the 13th edition of Compotec, the International
\nExhibition of Composites and Related Technologies, the only trade event in Italy entirely dedicated
\nto composite materials.
\nThe 2022 edition will be dedicated specifically to composite materials in the nautical field, in close
\nsynergy with Seatec 2022. This is why it will be Compotec Marine.
\nTHE DATE
\nSeatec 2022 will be held from March 17 th to 18 th . The concentration in two working days at the end
\nof the week meets the needs of exhibitors and visitors to optimize meeting times and rationalize
\nenergy and investments.
\nSECTORS AND EVENTS
\nExhibition Area – The display of products of excellence in the most classic sense of a product fair
\nand exhibition of opportunities and services for the nautical sector.
\nB2B meeting – The B2B meetings between exhibitors and international buyers from all over
\nEurope, Russia and the Middle East are reconfirmed, with the operational support of the ICE \/ ITA
\nAgency for the promotion abroad and the internationalisation of Italian companies, operational arm
\nof the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) both in presence and in
\nlive experience.
\nSustainability – Seatec continues in its commitment to promote a growing environmental
\nawareness, encouraging companies that produce and operate with the utmost environmental
\nsustainability, due to the highest quality of the territory required by boating activities and that
\nterritory must maximize its preservation. Companies identified as \u201cGreen\u201d are given special
\nvisibility and a \u201cGreentec\u201d award is established as recognition of the best eco-sustainable product
\nand process.<\/p>\n
Awards – The MYDA award, Millennium Yacht Design Award, particularly encourages young
\ndesigners, who express trends and the future of yacht design. The Qualitec Technology and
\nQualitec Design awards enhance the excellence of the participating companies and the
\ncommitment of the component supply chain to offer increasingly advanced products, both
\ntechnologically and aesthetically.
\nWorkshop – With the conferences Seatec has always offered high-profile technical content and
\naddresses the hot topics of the new dynamics of nautical production.
\nDuring the two days Seatec and Compotec Marine will organize workshops on:
\n\u2022 State-owned concessions,
\n\u2022 Alternative fuels and "eco-sustainable" engines
\n\u2022 Design trends and MYDA and Qualitec Technology & Design awards
\n\u2022 Recycling of materials and their use within the reuse chain.
\n"Shipyards\u2019 Lounge" – where the technical and purchasing managers of the shipyards could
\nmeet exhibitors, operators of the supply chain and the technicians of the parent companies of their
\nmain suppliers, to deepen both technical and commercial matters relating to materials and systems
\naffecting their production.
\nThe event will be hybrid: exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet the shipyards present in the
\nShipyards\u2019 Lounge and the buyers present in the B2B area, but will also have the opportunity to
\nestablish meetings with those delegates who, due to Covid-19, cannot physically be in Carrara.
\nA variation that undoubtedly increases business opportunities: the number of feasible meetings
\nincreases and the possibility of reaching that type of customer who, regardless of the pandemic,
\ncould not attend Seatec.
\nSeatec Job Exchange 2022 – Seatec Career Day is the starting point to explore the meeting
\nbetween job demand and offer in the nautical sector. University of Genoa (with annexed Polo of La
\nSpezia), Polytechnic University of Milan and Quasar Institute of Rome which train students
\napproaching the world of nautical work with the skills needed by shipyards and exhibiting
\ncompanies. The Employment Centers and the Chamber of Commerce and CNA will be involved.
\nStart Up – Cross Sector – Start Ups are a Seatec strong point. The Start Up area gives new
\nentrepreneurs the opportunity to present their product and their idea through an Elevator Pitch, at a
\nlow cost. The Start Up area is open not only to the yachting sector, but also to any type of sector
\nthat has an interest in relating with the sector, through Seatec and Compotec Marine.
\nSocial – Seatec and Compotec Marine will organize a "Cocktail", to return to relive a climate of
\nnormal socialization and wish all participants a good start to the year, with the hope of being able
\nto forge relationships even outside the boarders of their stands.
