<\/span><\/div>NLCOMP: FROM STARTUP TO INDUSTRIAL SITE IN MONFALCONE TO BUILD THE FIRST RECYCLABLE BOATS<\/p><\/h2><\/div>
The Monfalcone Nautical District is complete. The Coseveg consortium has sold the last available lot to the Samer Group, which ironically was lot number 1, where the first industrial site of the company nlcomp, a startup, now grown, led by Fabio Bignolini that produces eco-sustainable boats, addressing the end-of-life problem of fiberglass hulls, which are not recyclable, will be built. A production of small wind farms will also be born here.<\/p>\n
A milestone that was celebrated with the first event hosted by the area redeveloped by the Municipality of Monfalcone that brings the sea into the city and marks the northernmost point of the Mediterranean, with a multimedia room and a 32-kilometer cycle path that reaches all the way to Trieste.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe alienation of the available land along the banks of the canal \u2013 says the president of Coseveg, Fabrizio Renato Russo -, is finished and each lot is allocated for economic and productive activities related to the nautical world, confirming the role of Monfalcone in this sector. We are happy to have sold the land to the Samer Group, which immediately assessed its potential and chose to use it for a sector that is particularly important for the local industry, with great potential\u201d.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, it was the last lot, because there was still a lot of work to do. \u201cIt\u2019s a shame we can\u2019t have more space,\u201d commented President Russo, \u201cbecause the nautical industry has a huge demand at the moment in Monfalcone. I\u2019m happy that an innovative, young and sustainable company is coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
The areas acquired by the Samer Group will have as their main use the installation of the industrial plant of nlcomp, the company born in Monfalcone as a start up to build boats in recyclable composite materials capable of replacing fiberglass. The Research & Development work carried out in the first five years of activity, the number of awards and certifications of the quality of the project, the results obtained and the attention received from the market have led to a recent capital increase, which had as its main objective the construction of the industrial plant.<\/p>\n
The acquisition of the 13,000 square meter land, which also has a dock on the sea, was formalized by the Samer Group, which also\u00a0supported nlcomp with a capital injection of 600 thousand euros<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n “Our support for nlcomp – says the president of the Samer Group, Enrico Samer – has been going on for a long time and has increased over time given the great results achieved: the company is now ready to start mass production of composites, on a larger scale and serving many markets, dedicating itself to the boat sector and other fields in which it is necessary to replace fiberglass with more compatible materials as soon as possible. Hence the need to find a site suitable for this type of production, with direct access to the sea. The area made available by Coseveg has the characteristics for this type of activity, and its size will allow us to activate further activities connected to the nautical world”.<\/p>\n The link between the Samer Group and the port of Monfalcone dates back a long time. \u201cWe had already started working \u2013 Enrico Samer recalls \u2013 when nlcomp was just a warehouse. Here, however, we also have a very interesting dock. They are five young sailors who met five years ago and today have become five young entrepreneurs who produce the only boat in the world that is entirely recyclable\u201d<\/p>\n On the land entrusted to nlcomp, the construction of the \u201cheadquarters\u201d will begin as soon as possible, since the mass production of composite materials needs to start as soon as possible to meet market needs. \u201cOur industrial plant,\u201d explained nlcomp CEO Fabio Bignolini, \u201cwill be ready in September to allow our Marine division to carry out the final works inside in view of the launch of Offshore 34 \u2013 our new dedicated hull for offshore sailing \u2013 within the year. We started with an optimist, receiving compliments from all over Europe. Now the largest boat is 9.30 meters but we also work for very important shipyards, such as Cantiere del Pardo, the first to believe in us and which\u00a0presented the Grand Soleil Blue at Boot D\u00fcsseldorf<\/a>\u00a0, and other Italian companies.\u201d<\/p>\n The industrial plant will be built with sustainability in mind: it will be made of wood and with some parts in panels made with materials produced by nlcomp itself. The structure will be self-sufficient from an energy point of view: \u201cWe have been working for some time to also decline our production in the creation of mini wind turbines \u2013 Bignolini explained \u2013 and the first will be installed right on the land along the Canale Est Ovest, with the aim of providing energy to the industrial plant\u201d.<\/p>\n They will be mini-turbines with 2-meter-high wind blades, with a total system of 8 meters high, but also 16-meter systems with 8-meter-high blades, “to provide energy – explains Bignolini – to airports, public facilities, industries where large systems cannot be installed. It is a cheaper and less impactful alternative. For the construction of the wind blades we will have to adapt the production process of the boats to that of the turbines because the techniques will be different”.<\/p>\n \u201cMonfalcone \u2013 commented MEP Anna Maria Cisint \u2013 continues to consolidate its role as a hub of excellence and an advanced center of technological development at a regional and international level. nlcomp is a company that we saw born and that today represents a model of innovation and entrepreneurial vision. These young entrepreneurs, in addition to being expert technicians, are also sailors, and their path is supported by a great name like the Samer Group. They are not limited to the nautical sector, but they explore with intelligence and ambition new areas of development, demonstrating how our territory can offer space for diversified and cutting-edge initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>
