Carrara, 11 December 2019

An innovative award called the Rossinavi Design Challenge, reserved for young designers who are new to the subject of motor yachts within the 500 GRT, will be presented as part of the 18th edition of Seatec, the exhibition of technology, components, design and subcontracting applied to rectreational boating, conceived and promoted by IMM CarraraFiere and scheduled from 5 to 7 February 2020. From an idea of the Viareggio shipyard, developed together with the organizers of the show, the Rossinavi Design Challenge will accompany the 17th edition of MYDA, Millennium Yacht Design Award, reserved for young designers and professionals. For the Rossinavi Design Challenge, a special jury composed of Federico Rossi, Managing Director Rossinavi, will be set up to launch the challenge: “Using our knowledge of the market and our forty-yea experience, we seek interaction with creative new generation to discuss what the boats of tomorrow will be”. In addition to Rossi, the jury will be composed of well-known journalists, designers, brokers and influencers in the nautical sector. Rossinavi will award the winner with a project development path all the way to the production of a scale model, created by the partner Model Maker Group, a leading company in the sector, as well as the preparation of everything necessary for the sale of the project, which will be included in the commercial novelties of 2020. The winning project and any honorable mentions will be publicized in the 18th edition of Seatec, during which authoritative representatives of Rossinavi shipyard will award the prize with a special ceremony in a dedicated area, set up within the exhibition complex.

The Rossinavi Design Challenge award represents a great opportunity for young designers to get in touch with a particularly brilliant, dynamic reality in a production sector where the Made in Italy holds an international record, and to use all their skills and enter the market with top references. The Seatec organization team will manage the organization of the competition by issuing the call for applications to all Italian and international universities that hold courses and master’s degrees in yacht design and at new yacht designers.
